December 30 – Today meditate on: I Will Take Time to Be With Jesus
“Work hard so God can say to you, ‘Well done.’ Be a good workman who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what His Word says and means. ” 1 Tim. 2:15 TLB.
Jeremiah 29:11,“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace, and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” Read also vs. 12-14.
Psalm 139:17,“How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them.”
Dr. Tony Evans notes from his teaching - The Word of God Gives You:
- Spiritual food – what food is for your body, the Word of God is food for your soul. God knows you can’t get by without the Word. We neglect the Word because we get full of junk food. You cannot grow without the Word of God.
- Spiritual maturity – maturity comes when you begin to apply what you’ve learned from the Word to every situation in life.
- Spiritual guidance, Ps. 19 – some Christians are spiritually blind.
- Provides spiritual stability, Matt. 7:24.
