I Will Never, Never, Never Give Up
December 31 – Today meditate on: I Will Never, Never, Never Give Up
“We must never get tired of doing good because if we don’t give up the struggle we shall get our harvest at the proper time.” Galatians 6:9 JB
It has been such a struggle to “stuff down” my personal ambitions, wants and desires for my life, because this is what I feel God wants me to do. On the one hand I say, “Lord, Your will not mine” and in the next breath I start dreaming and planning for my “field of service.” Every day it’s a ping-pong game between my will for my life and what God is preparing for my life.
We must be careful what we ask for in prayer. Careful to understand what we are asking, and careful to realize that God is working on the answer. He knows what’s best for us. When trials and testings come the Lord is saying to us, “But I am working on the thing you asked in prayer.” As James 1:2-4 says, “Count it all joy my brethren when you face various trials and temptations…”
Today allow God to “fully develop – with no defects – lacking in nothing” you. Let Him have His way in your life, and there you will find peace and contentment. “In acceptance is great peace.” —Amy Carmichael.
We were not made to serve God, but to worship and praise Him.
Service comes later.
“Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done,” Colossians 2:7 TLB (NS)
