God Will NEVER Fail Me Nor Ever Forsake Me
February 22 – Today meditate on: God Will NEVER Fail Me Nor Ever Forsake Me
Joshua 1:1-9, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”
“Never leave me nor forsake me?” Wow! Awesome, as the kids say today. My dad left when I was around nine years old. I never got to really know him. When he passed away quite suddenly of a heart attack at age 71, my husband received the phone call and came to where I worked to tell me. My first gut reaction was, “There he goes running out on me again.” I was really disappointed because I felt dad and I were finally getting to a place where perhaps we could have a relationship. Girls need so desperately to be loved, appreciated, accepted, etc., by their fathers. Boys need it too but in a different way. While growing up I never felt loved, appreciated nor accepted by my father, nor by anyone else in my family. I’ve always felt like the black sheep. Perhaps you’ve felt that way. Well, Jesus is MY heavenly Father Who deeply, unconditionally loves me and accepts me just like I am. He promised NEVER to leave me nor forsake me. I think the worse pain I’ve had in my life is the deep penetrating feelings of utter rejection from people, especially family members and relatives. But Praise God, Jesus is stronger than my feelings. The truths from the Word of God have set me free!
Ps. 27:10, “Although my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up [adopt me as His child].” (NS)
I have great worth apart from my performance
because Christ gave His life for me and
therefore imparted great value to me.
I am deeply loved, fully pleasing,
totally forgiven, accepted and complete in Him.
