God Says to Me, Fear Not – It’s a Command

February 8 – Today meditate on: God Says to Me, Fear Not – It’s a Command

Fear Not – Fear Not – Fear Not! Walk on the Water

Isaiah 43: “Says the Lord Who created you,…Fear not, for I have redeemed you—ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives; I have called you by your name, you are Mine.”

“Fear not”.…how many, many times in the Word the Lord says, Fear not! It says “fear not” 365 times, one for every day. The unknown is scary to us. We want to know WHERE we are going. We want to know HOW God is going to do it. When, where, how, and why! We have so many unanswered questions. The more we feast on the Word of God our faith will grow. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God,” Romans 10:17 – hearing, and hearing, and hearing, and hearing, and hearing. “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because those who come to Him must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him,” Hebrews 11:6.

“Abraham went not knowing where he was going.” Could you do that? Yes, you most certainly could. If God told you to leave your country and go where He sends you without giving you any more instructions than that, you would quickly learn to lean hard on the arm of the Lord and His power and might and strength and guidance and provisions, etc. “Perfect love casts out all fear.” God is perfect love. His presence, which abides with us forever, casts out all fear.

Song: “Put your hand in the hand of the Man who stilled the waters, put your hand in the hand of the Man who calmed the sea. Take a look at yourself and you’ll look at others differently, by putting your hand in the hand of the Man who calmed the sea.” (quoted from memory; may not be accurate). Put your hand in His hand and leave it there! Wholly trust Him. (NS)
