God Puts A New Song In My Mouth
January 3 – Today meditate on: God Puts A New Song In My Mouth
Psalm 40:3, “And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear—revere, and worship—and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.” (Psalm 5:11)
Have you allowed God to put “a new song” in your mouth? Do you quickly praise Him in everything, pleasant or unpleasant? In the Word of God we are commanded to praise the Lord; “in everything give thanks;” “lean not unto your own understanding;” etc. Praise needs to be on our lips all the time. In Psalms it says, “Open your mouth and I will fill it.” When we don’t feel like praising God we can say, “Lord, put a new song in my mouth. I open my mouth in obedience to You and ask You to fill it with praise to You.” “God watches over His word to perform it.” He is looking for willingness on your part. “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” “Offer to God the sacrifice of praise.”
I am nothing in myself, but I am everything in Christ Jesus. And by the wonder working power of Jesus’ precious blood I am all things in Christ Jesus.
I am a soldier in the Lord’s Army and I’m ready every day to make sure my Armor of God, that Hes provided, is in place and know I can face whatever today may bring because Jesus lives in me by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. There’s a prayer “Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I together can’t handle;” it was an old preacher’s greeting to each new day.
Joshua 1:1-9, “Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous and very courageous; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (NS)
