January 29 – Today meditate on: God Put All My Sins Behind His Back
Isaiah 38:17, .”..but You have loved back my life from the pit of corruption and nothingness, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.“
God’s Car Wash is 1 John 1:9, “If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive us our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness—everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action.”
“As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us,” Psalm 103:12. “If our heart does not condemn us, neither does God condemn us,” 1 John 3:21.
I don’t know about you, but when I sin – fall short – the Holy Spirit is prompt to nudge me about it. (The Umpire, the Holy Spirit, inside me blows His whistle). Isn’t the fact that God forgives us, and forgets the sin, not holding it against us, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness awesome? We need daily cleansing from the awful effects of sin in our lives. Especially if we were not the one to sin, but sin was done to us. God is in the healing, restoring business. He is our Jehovah-rapha, The God Who Heals.
Even what we might call “small” sins like lying, stealing, etc., have effects on our lives and on the lives of others. Right now go into the throne room of your Heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness. Always quickly (keep short accounts with the Lord) ask forgiveness and truly repent (do a 90 degree turn-about-face going in the opposite direction) of any known sin and then KNOW that you’re forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness. You can also ask for forgiveness of any unknown sin in your life; possibly something you’re not aware of. Sin is sin; don’t try to hide it from God nor yourself. Go to your Heavenly Loving Father and He will forgive you. (NS)
