God is My Deliverer
March 7 – Today meditate on: God is My Deliverer
Psalm 107:6, “Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.”
What kind of “distress” are you experiencing today that you need God to deliver you from? Distress of the heart–broken heartedness, distress of the mind, distress of circumstances beyond your control, distress of unruly emotions? It really doesn’t matter what kind of “distress” because the Lord will deliver you out of them all; He already promised to and He will. Today walk by faith knowing that God will do what He says He will do. He wants you totally and completely freed from all “distresses.” We are to live in the peace of God and the rest of God.
“Wherever you are, my friend, Jehovah is there. Waiting, longing to be your future and your hope. Do not be absorbed by your captivity; rather, be absorbed with you God? ‘Who have I in heaven but Thee? And besides Thee, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail; but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from Thee will perish; Thou has destroyed all those who are unfaithful to Thee. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.’ (Psalm 73:25-28). Jehovah-shammah -The Lord is there.” –Kay Arthur, Lord, I Want to Know You. (NS)
