December 24 – Today meditate on: God is Love
God…
- loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16
Ex. 20:6, His steadfast love; His great love, 1 John 3:1
- is full of mercy, Ex. 20:6, But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
- loving-kindness: Jeremiah 31:3, The Lord appeared of old to me, saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and have continued My faithfulness to you.
- thoughts of, Psalm 139:17; Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace, and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
- is pleased, Matthew 3:17; Isaiah 42:1, Behold My Servant, Whom I uphold; My elect, in Whom My soul delights!
- is patient, long-suffering, 2 Pet. 3:9, He is long-suffering (extra-ordinarily patient) toward you.
- gracious, Joel 2:13, Rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness…
- full of compassion toward us, Lam. 3:22; Psalm 78:38, But He, full of (merciful) compassion, forgave their iniquity… (NS)
