God Is Full of Surprises
February 7 – Today mediate on: God Is Full of Surprises
A New Thing!
Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not [earnestly] remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it, and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
“Do not [earnestly] remember the former things, neither consider the things of old.” We must not remember, and keep rehearsing, the former things, especially those former things that harmed us. It’s history. It’s past and there’s nothing we can do to change it. Read Philippians 3:3:13. “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it, and will you not give heed to it?” God wants us to see that today is a brand new day. He is doing a new thing today in our lives as we allow Him to. Do you not perceive and know it and then give heed to it? God is our Shepherd, Jehovah-raah. We are to follow Him, not run ahead. He prepares the way for us. We can trust the Good Shepherd with our today.
There will be desert times in life. But God has promised to give rivers in the desert and a way in the wilderness. In the desert times, drink of the Living Water and eat the Living Bread. (NS)
