God Has Made Me Righteous Through the Blood of Jesus
January 27 – Today meditate on: God Has Made Me Righteous Through the Blood of Jesus
Benefits of Righteousness
Isaiah 32:17, “The effect of righteousness shall be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness, quietness and confident trust for ever.”
John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid—stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.”
Philippians 4:7, “God’s peace [be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding, shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:9, “The God of peace—of untroubled, undisturbed well-being—will be with you.”
“Peace” is one of the fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. I like what it says in The Amplified Bible, “The fruit of the (Holy) Spirit, [the work which His presence within accomplishes]…,” Galatians 5:22-23. “The work which His presence within accomplishes” is the Holy Spirit working within us that accomplishes the “effects of righteousness.” We are never righteous in ourselves; only through the shed blood of Jesus were we made righteous before God.
