January 8 – Today meditate on: God Has Commanded That I Live By Faith
Habakkuk 2:4, “Behold the proud; his soul is not straight or right within him; but the rigidly just and the uncompromisingly righteous man shall live by his faith and in his faithfulness.“ (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38).
Living by faith is one of the basic truths and beliefs of a true Christian, if not the most important truth and belief. The Bible says that each person “was given the measure of faith” and we can increase our faith level by spending time in the alive, active Word of God and in fellowship with the Lord. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God,” Romans 10:17 (hearing, and hearing, and hearing, and…). “The just shall live by faith,” Romans 1:17. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” Romans 12:2.
One trap used by the devil to keep us in bondage is unbelief or doubt. Determine today that you will simply believe God – trust in, lean on and rely upon Him, have faith as a little child. Keep as a little child in your relationship with the Lord. Don’t listen to that small background voice that insinuates “That can’t be true,” “It won’t work for you,” etc. Remember, determine that the devil won’t win in your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to totally control you and determine that God will win in your life.
Walk by faith, in faith, it will work every time. Read the Word, meditate on the Word, feed your spirit-man on the Word, speak the Word, and you will see faith increase in your life. “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” (NS)
