God Has Commanded My Praise

January 5 – Today meditate on: God Has Commanded My Praise

Wild, Enthusiastic and Triumphal Music

Habakkuk 3:1-2, A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, set to wild, enthusiastic and triumphal music: “O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make Yourself known!”

In the Amplified Bible it says this prayer was set to “wild, enthusiastic and triumphal music.” Have you found that “God inhabits the praises of His people?” Have you discovered for yourself the benefits of praising God? God has commanded our praise. Commands are commands not suggestions. Either you will obey God or you won’t. There’s no sitting on the fence. Either you love God or you don’t. When you love someone you want to spend time with them.

Dr. Tony Evans said, “Don’t say you don’t have time to fellowship with God. Just be honest and say you don’t take time.” You have time for what you feel are priorities in your life. People do what they want to do. You will never be a victorious fulfilled Christian until you spend quality time with God each and every day. You won’t be able to discern His voice amid the clamor in your mind until you develop your ear to hear Him and command your body and mind to “be still.” He speaks mostly in “a still small voice.” (NS)

“Every moment by moment of my life are in His hands,” Psalm 31:15,
