God Commands Me to Sing & Shout & Rejoice!

January 14 – Today meditate on: God Commands Me to Sing & Shout & Rejoice!

Sing, Shout, Rejoice!

Ephesians 3:14-15, “Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice, be in high spirits and glory with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem…the Lord has taken away the judgments against you, He has cast out your enemy; the King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of you; you shall not experience or fear evil any more.”

“Sing, shout, rejoice!” these are commandments. Many of the Psalms talk about exuberant, joyful, loud sounding praise and worship unto God. In our quiet-time we can sing and dance and praise God. Praising God is one of the special beneficial things you as a child of God can enjoy. “God inhabits the praises of His people.” “In His presence is fullness of joy.”

Joy, gladness, happiness is some of the things we have to fight for at times. Remember to feed your spirit-man every day to make him stronger, so you can “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” The devil will not stay around when you praise the Lord, it hurts his ears.

We are commanded to praise. Sometimes when you can’t pray in words, you can pray by praising God. Pray the Psalms to God. Praise Him especially when you don’t feel like it. Praise is uplifting. Lose yourself in praising and worshipping the God of heaven and you will see all your problems dissipate. (NS)

Ezekiel 3:22, “I will talk with you there.” “Where” wherever you are right now, God presence is always with you to lead and guide you. Where are you today? Is your “today” in God’s capable hands or in your hands? Don’t you think it’s time to surrender control of your life to Him once and for all? (NS)
