God Always Accepts My Prayers
January 18 – Today meditate on: God Always Accepts My Prayers
God Doesn’t Reject Our Prayers
Psalm 66:19-20, “Certainly God has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, Who has not rejected my prayer, nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being [as it always is] with me.”
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us and that Jesus intercedes for us. If there is a time when you feel no one is interceding—standing in the gap praying for you—remember Jesus and the Holy Spirit ARE interceding for you. One of my favorite songs is, “Someone is Praying For You.” The chorus goes something like this: “Someone is praying for you, remember someone is praying for you. So when you feel you’re all alone and your heart would break in two, remember someone is praying for you.” So even if no human being is praying for you, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are praying for you. God can, and does, quicken His saints to pray for others. If someone’s face or name flashes in your mind, lift them up in prayer. Catherine Marshall called these “little nudges from God.” You never know if it is a matter of life or death for that person. Determine to be an intercessor. Forget about yourself through praying for others. (NS)
Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance—unnecessary weight—and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us.”
