Because I Seek the Lord I Lack No Good Thing

December 19 – Today meditate on: Because I Seek the Lord I Lack No Good Thing

Fear the Lord

Psalm 34:9-10, “Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”

“No good thing will He withhold from them that love Him.” To “fear the Lord” means to have reverence for Who He is; to revere His name; to have a healthy “fear” as we did of our parents. We knew that if we did anything against our parents rules we would be punished and sometimes severely. My husband and I talked about this. We both grew up knowing that if we did certain things that there would be repercussions. We had a healthy fear of our parents and so that helped keep us in-line, for our own good. There were some things we would never have dreamed of doing, the results would be too “uncomfortable,” unless of course, you wanted to stand up the rest of your life. God says that IF we love Him we will do what He asks.

Read Isaiah 64:4; 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Prayer: “I feel so empty sometimes, Lord, when I struggle with what to pray. I have read so much and studied so much, and I don’t want to pray the wrong thing. It seems words come easy sometimes, but then so very difficult the next time. It’s hard to sort my feelings out and put my finger on what is troubling me.

“I desire to voice my prayer in a positive way, seeking Your help and guidance, always desiring that Your will be accomplished in my life. Praying with “living mustard seed faith” that moves mountains. You honor and respond to prayers spoken in faith. And so today, this moment, I come aside to a quiet place (in my mind – not necessarily a physical place) to offer my prayer to You – praising Your name.” (NS)
